João Guilherme Leme Amorim was born on 21 April 1986 in Bilac, Brazil.
João went in for football at an early age. He played with youth teams of different Brazilian clubs. The footballer significantly improved his football skills in the Brazilian side Internacional where he started playing professionally. In 2004 João Guilherme penned his first contract with Internacional. During three years the footballer got a good block of training. Though João took part only in 16 matches and scored 1 goal, he gained much experience.
In 2008 João Guilherme completed a move to the Portuguese club Marítimo where he played until 2013 before joining a Cypriot club APOEL.
In 2003 João was called up to the Brazilian national U-17 football team. He took part in the U-17 World Cup and helped his team to win the trophy.
