A footballer João Pedro Lima Santos plays as a defender for Penafiel. He was born on 15 August 1980 in Vila Nova, Portugal.
His youth career started in 1994, when João entered the academy of Porto. He spent there 4 years, playing for various youth teams.
In the summer 1999, the defender signed his first pro contract with Leça, where he spent two seasons making only occasional appearances.
In 2001, the footballer came back to his native town, where he joined Famalicão. Pedro spent the season with the club, performing as the team’s starter.
In the summer 2002, a move to Estoril Praia happened. Santos became the team’s pivot, making starts in almost all the matches during 3 seasons.
In the summer 2005, Santos opted to join Gil Vicente. After a long-term contract had been signed, he officially became the club’s member. The defender fitted the squad perfectly, making frequent appearances.
In 2009, the footballer was noticed by the scouts from Ethnikos Achna. One year contract was signed and the defender became an official player of the club. He made 12 appearances in the first eleven over the course of a season.
In the summer 2010, Pedro was welcomed back to his previous club Gil Vicente. Three years later he completed a move to Penafiel.
