Joel Robles Blázquez was born in 1990 in Getafe, Spain. He is a goalkeeper of Everton.
He spent his youth playing career at the ranks of Getafe CF and Atlético Madrid. In 2009, Robles joined Atlético’s reserve team signing his first professional contract. In May 2010, he made his La Liga debut, that match against Sporting de Gijón ended in a 1-1 draw. He featured as a substitute at the 2010 UEFA Europa League final, when the team won the title.
During the 2010/11 he was a backup but as Gregorio Manzano was appointed the manager, Joel Robles became the first-choice. Nevertheless soon he was replaced and by the end of January he was loaned to Rayo Vallecano. Joel spent the second half of 2012/2013 season on loan at Wigan.
Since July 2013 Joel has been a player of Everton.
