Norwegian footballer John Arne Semundseth Riise was born on 24 September 1980 in Aalesund and joined the local club of the same name at the age of 16. In 1998 the footballer transferred to AS Monaco FC and performed for the team till 2001, when Liverpool secured the services of Riise for seven following seasons. From 2008 till 2011, John played for Italian side Roma. On 13 July 2011, the footballer ended his Roma spell with Fulham move. In 2014 Riise was released.
Riise has a whole clutch of honours, including the Trophée des Champions (2000), the gold medal of the Ligue 1, the FA Cup (2006), the Community Shield (2001, 2006), the Football League Cup (2003), the UEFA Super Cup (2001, 2005) and the Champions League (2005).
