A Colombian footballer John Jairo Mosquera plays as a forward for Bundesliga 2 side Energie Cottbus. John was born on 15 January 1988 in Apartadó.
Mosquera’s playing career started in 2002, when he entered the youth academy of Millonarios. In 2004, the young player was selected for the junior side of River Plate, where his formation was finished.
In 2004, John returned to Colombia and penned a contract with a famous Atlético Nacional and his senior career started off. In 2006, the forward joined Werder Bremen. He stayed there until 2011. But during that period he mainly served loans to numerous clubs. Among them were Wacker Burghausen, Alemannia Aachen, Union Berlin and SønderjyskE. In 2012, Mosquera signed for Changchun Yatai and started playing in the Chinese Super League.
In 2013 the Colombian moved to Europe and joined Energie Cottbus playing in Bundesliga 2.
On international level, John performed for the Colombia U-17 and U-20 teams. He participated in the 2005 South American U-17 Championship and in the 2007 South American Youth Championship.
