A Scottish footballer Johnathon Russell was born on 8 April 1990 in Glasgow. In 2008, he became the member of the Scotland national youth squad.
Johnny started his football career in 2007, when his first pro contract was penned with Dundee United. Before this had happened the forward studied at the club’s academy. From 2008 to 2010, Russel served loans at Forfar Athletic and Raith Rovers. In 2010, the player returned to his parent club, where he continued to make successful appearances. In total, the footballer featured in more than 100 club’s fixtures and netted 46 goals.
In the summer 2013 Russell signed a new deal with an English side Derby County.
On 17 November 2010, Johnny debuted for the Scotland U-21 team in a match against Ireland.
