Jonas Olsson is a back of West Bromwich. He was born on 10 March 1983 in Landskrona, Sweden.
In 2003 Jonas began his professional career after receiving an offer to sign a contract with Landskrona BoIS. The footballer emerged through the youth system of the club, where he trained and prepared to become a pro player for many years. From 2003 till 2005, Olsson made 56 appearances and found the net one time for the Swedish side team.
In 2005 the young defender drew the attention of the Netherlands side team. NEC Nijmegen sent its scouts to assess the footballer’s skills and they returned with encouraging news, which became the key point for signing a contract. In the summer 2005, Olsson officially completed a move to the new club and spent three years there. Those years were very fruitful for the Swedish defender as he clinched the place in the starting line-up and did not lose it till his following transfer. Jonas took part in 93 games and netted five goals for the Dutch side squad during three years.
In 2008 Olsson received an offer from West Bromwich, which wanted to secure the services of the defender. In the summer the same year, two clubs agreed a deal and Jonas penned a contract with ‘The Baggies’, where he performs up till now. From 2008 the footballer is one of the pivots of centre defense, who made 128 appearances and fired nine goals.
In 2003 Jonas took part in his first international match, coming on the pitch with the Sweden national U-21 squad. He played there during two years, made 19 appearances and contributed one goal. From 2010 Olsson was capped eight times for the senior national team.
