Jonathan Bornstein is a professional American defender currently playing for UANL in the Mexican Liga MX. He was born on 7 November 1984 in Torrance, California, United States.
At his younger days Jonathan played in the youth teams of Irvine Strikers, Cal Poly Pomona Broncos and UCLA Bruins. He turned professional with Chivas USA as he signed for the MLS club in 2006. For his strong performances during a debut season at the club Bornstein was given the 2006 MLS Rookie of the Year Award. Overall, he made a total of 131 appearances in all competitions for Chivas during a five year stint. In 2011, Bornstein moved to Mexico where he signed for the top-flight side Tigres de la UANL and plays there today.
Jonathan Bornstein earned 38 caps to the United States national team in between 2007 and 2011. He was part of the squad who won the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2007.
