Jonathan Pereira Rodríguez (more commonly known as simply Jonathan) plays for Real Betis as a striker.
This striker grew up as a part of Villarreal, with whom he played his first La Liga match. That was a game against Levante on October 21, 2006. Jonathan was sent to the pitch 25 minutes before the final whistle and scored his first official goal 2 minute since he appeared on the field. The striker was used in four games till the end of the season.
The 2007/08 campaign he spent on loan to Racing de Ferrol. His eleven goals didn’t prevent the side from relegation.
At the end of 2008 Jonathan returned to Villarreal to extend his contract till 2013 and confirm the loan to Racing de Santander playing for which he scored an equalizer in a 1-1 draw against Barcelona. Most of his time he spent on the bench though ¬¬¬appeared in 37 games scoring 7 goals.
After a season for the Basque side Jonathan Pereira rejoined with Villarreal but regardless manager left his seven goals in the team’s pre-season without attention.
In mid January 2010 the footballer joined an Andalusian club Real Betis penning a five-year contract. His first goal came on 30 January against Córdoba. Through his all career at the Verdiblancos the striker made 71 appearances and netted 16 La Liga goals.
During the winter transfer window the player moved back to Villarreal.
