Jonathan Pitroipa plays as a winger for Stade Rennais FC. He was born on 12 April 1986 in Burkina Faso.
The player’s youth career developed at Planete Champion football academy where he performed over a few years.
In 2004 the winger began his professional career signing a contract with German club SC Freiburg. The club plays in Bundesliga and Jonathan got the opportunity to obtain valuable experience. He signed a contract according to which he played for the club until 2008. In four years the player scored 16 goals in 75 appearances for the club.
In 2008 Pitroipa received another offer. This time he attracted attention of Hamburger SV which also plays in Bundesliga. The winger signed a lasting contract with the club and featured for it until 2011. Over a period of three years he was a mainstay of the team and periodically played as a substitute. In three years spent in the club he participated in 74 matches and netted 6 goals.
In 2011 Jonathan continued his career at French club Rennes. The club acquired the player for £3.2 million and signed a long-term contract according to which he is now bound to the club. The manager placed him in the starting lineup when Rennes faced up with Georgian club at the UEFA Europa League qualification. In the first match the winger scored his debut goal and continued his successful performance.
Since 2004 Pitroipa has starred for the Burkina Faso national football team.
