Jonathan Spector is a defender of Birmingham City. He was born on 1 March 1986 in Arlington Heights, United States.
In 2002, Jonathan joined Bradenton Academy and spent one year with the junior squad of the club. In 2003, the footballer performed for Chicago Sockers, Chicago Fire Reserves and Manchester United academies before making his professional start.
The same year, Spector penned a senior contract with ‘The Red Devils’, but took part only in three fixtures for the team during two years. In 2005, the defender went on loan to Charlton Athletic and featured in 20 matches for the temporary club during one season. After the end of his spell, Jonathan sealed a five-year deal with West Ham United.
The footballer started to make occasional appearances for ‘The Hammers’, but his steady performance eventually earned him a place in the starting XI. Spector netted one goal in 101 games for the club till 2011, when he completed a move to Birmingham City. The defender took part in 52 fixtures and fired one goal for the club as of January 2013.
From 2003 till 2005, Jonathan made 21 appearances for the United States national U-17 and U-20 squads. From 2004, he has been capped 34 times for the senior national team.
