Jonny Evans is a back of Manchester United. He was born on 2 January 1988 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Jonny began his youth career in the Manchester United academy. During several years, the Northern-Irish player had successfully trained and became one of the best youth team players.
In 2006 Jonny accepted an offer to join the first team and signed a professional contract with the club. However, his career in Manchester United did not start at once, because the management decided to send him on loan so he could gain proper performing practice.
From 2006 Jonny played for Royal Antwerp, the Belgian Second Division club, but the head coach let him on the field not so often and Evans made only 11 appearances for the first team in 2006/2007.
In 2007, after he had returned from the temporary club, MU decided to enlarge Jonny’s playing practice by sending him on loan one more time. The English side Sunderland, which periodically plays in the Premier League, became the new temporary club of the young back. In 2007/2008 Jonny took part in many games, but he was not a key player. The head coach did not dare to tie defense to a rookie, who came to the team for a while, so Evans made 18 appearances and scored one goal. In 2008 his loan spell was prolonged and Jonny stayed in Sunderland for another year. In 2008/2009 Evans played 15 matches for the temporary club.
After returning from Sunderland, Evans stayed with his parent Manchester United and did not go on loan anymore. From 2008 Jonny has taken part in 75 matches and got on the scoresheet, firing a goal.
From 2004 till 2006, the back was capped ten times for the matches of the Northern Ireland national U-17 and U-21 teams. From 2006 Evans regularly plays for the national squad. He has made 29 appearances and scored one goal.
