Jordi Codina Rodriguez is a Spanish goalkeeper playing for Getafe CF.
His youth career started with RCD Espanyol and continued in a professional sphere by moving from Barcelona to Madrid in 2002 where he played for the reserve teams of the Real Madrid.
After spending some time with the youth ranks of the ‘Blancos’ Codina was transferred to Real Madrid C. Even though he spent only one season there the quality of his play permitted Jordi to win promotion and soon the player’s position was upgraded to a place in the Real Madrid B team. Showing his qualities of a charismatic leader the goalkeeper was granted captainship.
During his last season with the B team he spent 35 out of 38 games spending 3061 minutes of playing time. After that he was promoted to the main squad as the third choice after Iker Casillas and Jerzy Dudek.
On May 11, 2008 Cordina spent his only game for the ‘Galácticos’ appearing in the starting lineup for a game against Levante UD. That was the last game of the season and Real Madrid won the clash by 5 to 2 despite being crowned champions by that time.
Jordi joined Getafe CF on July 2, 2009 penning a three-year deal with the side. Since then he made 47 appearances for the side battling for the starting-eleven position with an Argentine Oscar Ustari.
