Jordy Deckers is a goalkeeper of Excelsior. He was born on 20 June 1989 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Jordy began to play football in amateur Watergraafsmeer, where he performed at the position of a left winger, but eventually took a place between the posts. The footballer’s talent was soon noticed by Ajax, where Deckers spent several years. In 2008, the keeper penned a two-year contract with AZ and clinched a regular place in the main team of the club the same year, but failed to make his competitive début due to a knee injury.
The following season, Jordy was sent on loan to Telstar, where he made his first professional appearance on 20 November 2009 in the away 2-0 loss to AGOVV Apeldoorn. The goalkeeper took part only in two fixtures for the temporary team during his spell.
After returning to his parent AZ, Deckers learned the management had not extended his contract. On 31 August 2010, the player sealed a one-year deal with Ajax, because the club needed a reserve goalkeeper.
At the beginning of 2011, Jordy put pen to paper of a three-and-a-half-year contract with Rotterdam side Excelsior, where the keeper’s début came on 20 September 2011 in the away 0-5 victory over Excelsior ’31.
