José Bosingwa da Silva is a right back of Trabzonspor. He was born on 24 August 1982 in Mbandaka, Zaire.
Bosingwa started to train in the academy of Fornos de Algodres and drew the attention of Boavista scouts a year later. The footballer failed to get to the main team during his first season and was sent on loan to Freamunde, which helped him to gain a lot of playing practice. In 2003 José transferred to Porto for €2 million. Bosingwa managed to clinch a place in the starting line-up and made 111 appearances for the new club during five years.
In 2008 da Silva completed a move to Chelsea, guided by then head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari. The club had to pay about £16 million for the footballer. José made encouraging display during his first season at Stamford Bridge, but suffered a serious injury at the beginning of 2009/2010, which sentenced him to one year without football.
Bosingwa returned on the pitch in 2011 in the match against Wolverhampton Wanderers and showed stellar performance. In the winter 2011, the back asked the management to put him on transfer. Italian side Milan wanted to secure the footballer’s services, but Chelsea rejected their bid worth €3 million as they thought that was not enough.
In 2011 the back’s contract was extended for one year. Bosingwa started to make regular appearances under the guidance of the new head coach, André Villas-Boas, and expressed his wish to pen an extension. From 2008, the footballer featured in more than 100 games and fired three goals for the club.
In the summer 2012, Bosingwa put pen to paper of a contract with London side QPR. After one season with a London outfit the Portuguese signed for Trabzonspor.
In 2011 José refused to cap for the Portugal national squad till it is coached by Paulo Bento.
