José Cañas. Biography

José Cañas Ruiz-Herrera is a Spanish midfielder of Swansea City.

This player is a product of Real Betis youth ranks. José signed with the reserves of the Andalusian side in 2006 and spent four years there, appearing in 79 games.

His first La Liga appearance for the main squad was on May 3, 2009 where he played four closing minutes of a clash with Atlético Madrid. By the end of that season Real Betis were relegated. The player made a total of 66 league appearances for the Verdiblancos since 2009 and switched to a Welsh side Swansea City in 2013.
