José Corona is a Mexican goalkeeper. José was born on 26 January 1981 in Guadalajara, Mexico. In 2002 the footballer made his Liga MX debut for Mexican side Atlas where he participated in 47 matches until 2004.
During the next five years Corona defended the colours of Estudiantes Tecos. The keeper made 168 appearances overall for this team. In 2005 he served a season-long loan spell at Guadalajara. In 2009 José Corona completed a move to Cruz Azul. The footballer managed to show his worth immediately becoming a first-choice goalkeeper of the Machine.
Since 2005 Corona has been part of the Mexico national squad. However the goalkeeper was regularly suspended for his unsportsmanlike conduct. Corona was a first-choice keeper of the national football team when they won the 2012 Summer Olympics.
