A Spanish footballer Joseba Garmendia Elorriaga performs as a midfielder for Girona FC. Joseba was born on 4 October 1985 in Basauri, Biscay.
In 1995, Garmendia entered the academy of Colegio Etxegaray and his junior career began. In a year, the young midfielder was scouted by Athletic Bilbao, where the last years of his youth career passed. During that period, the player finished his formation and was ready to perform on a senior level.
In 2003, Joseba signed for Baskonia. He proved to be a very talented player during his debut season. He netted nine goals in 36 matches for the squad, appearing mainly as a member of the starting XI.
In 2004, the player opted to join Bilbao Athletic. Garmendia defended the reserves during two years. The club’s management that he would get more playing practice whilst performing for the B squad and got ready to join the main team. In total, the defender made 42 appearances and racked up 14 goals.
In 2006, Joseba was promoted to Athletic Bilbao, where he spent the next three seasons. The spell was lined with three balls scored in 45 games. In the summer 2009, a move to Numancia happened. Garmendia appeared 45 times and amassed seven goals over the course of two seasons.
In the summer 2011, Joseba was bought out by Girona FC. His debut season for the squad was lined with 16 appearances made.
