Josh McEachran (born 1 March 1993 in Oxford) is a midfielder of Chelsea.
In 2001 the young player entered the Chelsea football academy in Cobham. He proved himself a promising, talented and capable footballer. Josh had been playing for the U11 youth team for two years before he continued to climb up the academy ladder. During nine long years in the Cobham academy McEachran managed to play for different youth teams of the club before finally reaching the new step that would open up top football to him.
In 2010 the midfielder was offered to join the Chelsea first team and he did it without any doubts. Josh signed a long-term contract and currently plays for the club, though he is not an anchor player yet. However, after a number of steady matches, McEachran made it abundantly clear that he is a challenger for staying with the club for a long time.
In January 2012 the Chelsea management decided to send the midfielder on loan so he could keep his good shape by playing for a temporary club. Swansea City signed McEachran and he met with his parent Chelsea during a Premier League match. In the season 2012/2013 Josh was loaned to a Championship side Middlesbrough and featured in 38 matches.
In the season 2013/2014 the youngster played for Watford and Wigan Athletic on loan.
From 2007 to 2010 Josh was capped for the national U16, U17 and U19 teams, making 23 appearances and netting two goals. Since 2010 he has been invited to the England national U21 team, where he played in 13 matches.
