A Portuguese footballer Josué Filipe Soares Pesqueira plays as an attacking midfielder for Porto. He was born on 17 September 1990 in Ermesinde.
His junior career started in 2006 at the academy of Padroense. He had played for the club’s youth team during a year before he was sent on loan to Candal, where he was supposed to gain more playing experience. In 2007, the midfielder was noticed by the scouts from Porto. After passing the preliminary tests, Pesqueira was drafted into the club’s youth department, where the last years of his junior career were spent.
In the summer 2009, a contract with Porto was penned. But hardly had footballer joined the main team when he was sent on loan to Covilhã. Josué spent half of the season with the temporary team, making only 5 appearances and scoring one goal.
In January 2010, a loan to Penafiel followed, where the midfielder played during the rest of the 2009/2010 season. In total, he netted 1 goal in 14 matches.
In the summer 2010, Pesqueira was loaned out by the Dutch club VVV. The midfielder appeared 13 times as the team’s starter.
In 2011, the numerous loans ended as Josué signed for Paços de Ferreira. He managed two fabulous debut season for the new team, featuring in more than 40 matches. In 2013 the player returned to Porto.
Pesqueira netted 6 goals in 17 matches for the Portugal national youth team at the U-19, U-20 and U-21 levels.
