Juan Ángel Albín Leites is a Uruguayan attacking midfielder of Petrolul.
This footballer started his career playing for Nacional from Montevideo. Juan conquered 3 domestic league championship titles while being a part of the Uruguayan side. The quality of football delivered by the player earned him a cross-Atlantic transfer to Getafe during the summer transfer window of 2006.
Albin wasn’t a frequent starter during his first season for the Madrid outskirts team. However after only 13 games in La Liga of 2006/07 he suddenly became a constant member on the entry list for the 2007/08 season games leading Getafe to their mid-table position and the UEFA Cup quarterfinals. After a manager replacement during the following Primera campaign Juan again was mainly remaining on the bench. However on November 29, 2008 in an occasional appearance he contributed with a goal to Real Madrid in a 3-1 victory over the ‘Blancos’.
Nothing changed for him during the season 2010/11 as the Uruguayan still remained out of the starting eleven often remaining an unused substitute. Nevertheless on December 11, 2010 playing against Villarreal Juan netted a last-minute winner. Being overemotional about the event Albín took off his shirt thus earning the second yellow card transforming to a red one.
In the middle of April Getafe CF and RCD Espanyol agreed upon a transfer of the Uruguayan to the Catalan club. The transfer fee totalled €3 million. His first season with the club from Barcelona was interrupted by a leg injury. Having recovered from it Juan netted an injury-time goal on February 4, 2012 playing Athletic Bilbao. In total Albín gained only 6 Primera appearances for the whole season of 2011/12.
After a loan spell with Nacional Montevideo, Albin joined a Romanian side Petrolul Ploiești in 2013.
