Jukka Raitala is a defender of Heerenveen. He was born on 15 September 1988 in Kerava, Finland.
Jukka went in for football when a child, and his first team was local Keravan Pallo-75. In 2005 the footballer drew the attention of HJK scouts and joined the new club. In 2006 Raitala made 22 appearances for Klubi-04 (the reserve team of HJK) and was given a place in the main team after the season. The defender took part in 66 matches for the Finnish side squad during three years.
On 31 August 2009, Jukka was sent on loan to 1899 Hoffenheim despite the likes of Ajax, AEK, Bayer and PSV took an interest in the footballer. In the middle of March 2010, Raitala made his Bundesliga début in the match against Werder Bremen. The defender made a start and was substituted in the 85th minute.
On 1 April 2010, Hoffenheim decided to secure Jukka’s services on permanent basis. On 31 August the same year, the footballer was sent on loan to SC Paderborn 07, where he made 29 appearances during the 2010/2011 season. In July 2011, Raitala was sent on a season-long loan to Osasuna.
On 6 June 2012, Jukka sealed a four-year deal with Dutch side Heerenveen.
At the beginning of February 2009, Raitala took part in a friendly for the Finland national team.
