Júnior Enrique Díaz Campbell, better known as Júnior Díaz, was born on 12 September 1983 in San Jose, Costa Rica.
His professional career began in Costa Rica in CS Herediano, in which he played for four years. In 2008, Júnior Díaz joined the Polish Vistula in Krakow. He performed in 66 games and scored five goals until 2010. Then the footballer moved to the Belgian side, where he played in the first division of FC Brugge. The footballer played thirteen matches for Belgian club without getting on the scoresheet. In 2011, Júnior Díaz returned on a loan in Wisla, where he appeared in twenty matches and netted one goal. In the summer of 2012 Diaz moved to German Mainz 05. There he signed a three-year contract until 2015. The player has not played a single match for the club so far.
On 7 September 2003 Diaz made his debut in the Costa Rica national team in a friendly match against China. His first match in the Copa América took place in 2004 against Chile. It was a 2-1 win. The following year Diaz played in all the matches. In 2004, he participated in the Olympic Games in Athens, where he reached the quarterfinals. There Costa Rica lost to Argentina.
