Juris Laizāns is a Latvian football player who was born on 6 January 1979. He started playing football at the club level Skonto-2 and in 1997 the midfielder featured in his first match for the senior squad. In 2001 Laizāns sealed a deal with CSKA Moscow where he stayed for four years and made 79 appearances. The midfielder left the capital club in 2005 and later had spells at Torpedo Moscow, Rostov, Kuban Krasnodar, Shinnik Yaroslavl, Olimps and Ventspils.
In 2010 Laizāns returned to Skonto, yet a season later he penned a deal with Fakel Voronezh where in the season 2011/2012 he featured in 17 matches and scored 3 goals. In 2012 Laizāns again became Skonto player.
Laizāns made more than 100 caps for the national side making his debut in 1998.
