Kei Ansu Kamara is a professional Sierra Leonean footballer currently playing as a striker for Middlesbrough. He was born on September 1, 1984 in Kenema, Sierra Leone. He and his family immigrated to the USA to escape the civil war in his motherland.
Kei Kamara began playing football professionally in 2004 at Orange County Blue Star, where he shot 16 goals in 19 matches. The impressive result drew the attention of Columbus Crew, playing in Major League Soccer (MLS), and the footballer performed for the club in the 2006/2007 season. Later Kei Kamara featured for such MLS sides as San Jose Earthquakes and Houston Dynamo and in 2009 was transferred to Sporting Kansas City. The striker took part in 113 games of the side and scored 28 goals.
In 2013 he was loaned to Norwich City and later on signed a permanent deal with Middlesbrough.
In 2008 Kei Kamara was invited to play for the Sierra Leone National Football Team. He stabbed his first goal for the national side in 2012, and the goal was followed by another one in the same game.
