Keith Fahey is an Irish midfielder. He was born on 15 January 1983 in Dublin, Ireland.
In 2002, Keith joined the main squad of Aston Villa after two years in the academy of the club. The footballer spent six months with ‘The Villans’, but failed to make his senior début, which entailed his move to Bluebell United in January 2003.
Fahey performed for the new team during half a year and transferred to St Patrick’s Athletic, where his professional career eventually took off. The midfielder made 76 appearances and amassed 11 goals for the club during two years.
In 2005, Keith’s success drew the attention of Drogheda United, which decided to secure the footballer’s services. Fahey netted two goals in 22 fixtures for the team before returning to St Patrick’s Athletic, where he had two fruitful seasons and managed to fire 12 goals in 77 games.
In January 2009, Keith put pen to paper of a contract with English side Birmingham City and became the pivot of the new team at once. The footballer featured in 121 matches and found the net nine times for Birmingham. He was released after four years with the club. At the end of 2013 Fahey was offered another spell with St. Patrick’s.
In 2003, Fahey took part in two matches for the Republic of Ireland national U-20 squad. From 2010, the midfielder has been capped 16 times and contributed three goals for the senior national team.
