Kelvin Davis is a goalkeeper of Southampton. He was born on 29 September 1976 in Bedford, England.
In 1994 Davis graduated from the academy of Luton Town and penned his first professional contract for five years, thus becoming a senior player. The keeper was sent on loan to Torquay United for a part of his début season and made two appearances for the temporary club. After returning to his parent club, Kelvin started to come on the pitch, where he performed as a first-choice goalkeeper rather often. In 1997 Davis went on loan again, but after the end of his spell the footballer returned to Luton Town and featured in 91 games of the native club till 1999.
In 1999 Kelvin completed a move to Wimbledon on a four-year deal. Each year was very fruitful for the keeper, as he made starts almost in all fixtures. Davis took part in 131 games of the club during four years.
Kelvin’s transfer to Ipswich Town took place in the summer 2003, when the footballer put pen to paper of a contract. The keeper stayed with the new team during two years, which were very successful, bright and productive. Davis made 88 appearances and managed to live up to the management’s expectations, which were pinned on him at the moment of the signing. Besides, his performance became even more solid and secure.
In 2005 the goalkeeper drew the attention of Sunderland, which secured the services of the footballer. Kelvin made positive display during the 2005/2006 season by featuring in 33 games.
In 2006 Davis ended his Sunderland spell with Southampton move, where he continues to play up till now, being a first-choice goalkeeper who made over 250 appearances for the club.
