Kemy Agustien was born on 20 August 1986 in Willemstad, Netherlands. He began his career in the academy of Willem II in 2002.
In 2004 the club management offered the midfielder a professional contract. Kemy accepted the offer and netted three goals in 55 games for the team during two seasons. In 2006 the footballer continued his career in AZ, but was sent on a season long loan to Roda JC, made 31 appearances for the temporary team and chipped in two goals.
In July 2008 Agustien penned a loan contract with the right of further redemption with English side Birmingham City and took part in 19 games for the club. However, after the loan spell, the footballer returned to AZ and immediately went on another loan, this time to RKC Waalwijk, where he made 19 appearances. During all that time Kemy was suffering from major setbacks and failed to clinch a place in the main team of his parent Dutch club after 25 games. When the player’s contract expired, the management decided not to extend it.
In October 2010 Agustien moved to Welsh side Swansea City and penned a two-year deal with the new club. Two weeks later, the footballer made his début for ‘The Swans’.
In 2011 Kemy completed a loan deal with English side Crystal Palace and gained playing experience there. At the end of the season the footballer got an ankle injury and skipped the remaining part of the season. However, despite that, in May 2012 Swansea offered Agustien an extension for two years.
Having featured in 39 matches for the Welsh club Agustien made a move to Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer 2013.
Kemy was capped for the Netherlands national U-20 team in 2005. From 2006 till 2008, he performed for the U-21 squad.
