Kenwyne Jones is a striker, born on 5 October 1984 in Point Fortin, Trinidad and Tobago.
In 2002 Jones’s professional career took off in local Joe Public, which penned a senior contract with the footballer, who made 11 appearances and found the net nine times for the club during six months. The same year, Kenwyne moved to the other Trinidad and Tobago club, W Connection. Jones amassed 30 goals in 31 games during two seasons, which determined his prospects for the future career and drew the attention of an English club.
In 2004 the striker finalized a move to Southampton. The management immediately sent him on loan to Sheffield Wednesday, where Kenwyne featured in seven games and went on to net seven times. In 2005 the footballer took part in several games of his parent club, but was sent on loan to Stoke City the same year and fired three goals in 13 games for the temporary team. After the end of his spell, Jones performed for Southampton during one year, made 71 appearances and amassed 19 goals.
In 2007 the player transferred to Sunderland, where his career made a huge leap forward. The head coach let the striker on the field with the starting squad almost in every fixture and Kenwyne repaid him by kicking 26 goals in 94 matches. In 2010 Jones sealed a deal with Stoke City, featured in 117 games and chipped in 28 goals.
Since 2014 Jones has been playing for Cardiff City.
From 2003 Jones has been capped for the Trinidad and Tobago national team.
