Kerim Frei is a midfielder of Besiktas. He was born on 19 November 1993 in Feldkirch, Austria.
Frei’s youth career began in the academy of Grasshopper, which is one of the most prestigious clubs in Switzerland. Kerim was welcomed into the youth team and performed there during some time before being transferred to older squad. The young footballer was a trainee of the academy for four years when Fulham scouts noticed him. London side teams do not lose an opportunity to recruit talented players and Frei became a very interesting candidate for being brought to ‘The Cottagers’ academy. That actually happened and Kerim spent a year with the youth team of the new club.
In 2011 the footballer officially began his professional career by signing a contract with Fulham. He got an opportunity to come on the pitch in the very first season, which gave the 18-year-old midfielder greater confidence in successful future.
Having made 33 appearances for the club from London, Kerim moved to Besiktas in September 2013.
Kerim Frei made 15 appearances and netted five goals for the Switzerland national U-18, U-19 and U-21 teams. In 2012, he decided to switch his allegiance from Switzerland to Turkey.
