The player’s football career emerged at Rennes. With that club he won 2007 U-18 league championship and the following year gained the Coupe Gambardella. On 24 September 2008 the defender made his professional debut against Le Mans FC during the French League Cup.
Kévin signed his first professional contract on 1 May 2009. According to the contract he was bound to the club for three years. He immediately acquired a reputation as the prime contender to the defender position in the main lineup. In the ensuing 2011/12 season he participated in all competitions appearing in 46 matches.
After four seasons with Rennes the player switched for a Welsh outfit Cardiff City, competing in the Premier League.
