Kim Dong-Jin is a defender of Hangzhou Greentown. He was born on 29 January 1982 in Dongducheon, South Korea.
In 2000 the footballer joined Anyang LG Cheetahs, which is now known as FC Seoul, where he spent much time. Kim’s professional career began with success, and during the first and the second seasons he often earned a place in the starting eleven. Kim proved himself as a reliable defender who could both make substitute appearances and play in the starting eleven. Despite the fact that the head coach trusted him greatly, Kim wasn’t one of the key players. During six seasons he featured in 99 games for Anyang LG Cheetahs and scored 12 goals.
In 2006 Kim Dong-Jin moved to Russia where he joined Zenit St. Petersburg on a long-term deal. The footballer managed to adjust to the new conditions quickly. Kim’s career in Zenit was quite a success. During three years and a half Kim Dong-Jin featured in 68 games for this Russian side.
In 2010 Kim Dong-Jin moved to South Korean outfit Ulsan Hyundai. The defender finished the season with 22 appearances for this club. In 2011 Kim joined FC Seoul which was the first football club in his career. The footballer netted once in 9 games for this club. In 2012 he penned a contract with Hangzhou Greentown which plays in the Chinese Super League.
From 2003 to 2004 Kim Dong-Jin was called up 23 times to the South Korea national U-23 football team and scored 5 goals. Since 2003 the defender has already taken part in more than 60 games for the senior side.
