Kim Källström is a midfielder, born on 24 August 1982 in a Swedish town Sandviken.
Kim’s youth career began in Partille where he played until 1999.
In 1999 scouts from the football club Häcken came for another tryout to the club’s academy where Kim was playing. After a friendly match the scouts made the decision to invite the Swedish talent to play for the first team of their club. In summer 1999 Kim signed his first professional two-year contract with the club. From the first tour Kim began appearing in the first team, taking part in almost all matches of the season. Kim played 69 matches and scored 14 goals for the two years that he featured for the club.
In 2001 Kim’s displays drew the attention of many Swedish clubs and Djurgårdens came first in the race for the young talent. Källström signed a two-year contract with the club. Kim obtained less game practice than in the previous club, however, he managed to net 26 goals in 48 matches.
In 2004 Kim was given an opportunity to play in the Ligue 1. The Football club Rennes made an offer to the talented midfielder. Later he signed a two-year contract with the club. The head coach trusted Kim a place in the starting lineup and Källström thanked him back with his brilliant play. Within two years Kim played 83 matches for the club and netted 20 goals.
In 2006 Lyon, one of the strongest clubs in France, planned to acquire the footballer. Without hesitation the football player signed a contract with the club. Kim appeared 269 times for Lyon during six years. In 2012 he switched for a Russian side Spartak Moscow.
In 2014 Kallstrom had a loan spell with Arsenal.
From 2000 to 2003 Kim was given 21 calls up to Sweden national U-21 team. Since 2001 he has been invited to play for the Sweden national team.
