Kingsley Onuegbu is a professional Nigerian footballer currently playing as a striker for Duisburg. He was born on March 5, 1986 in Kaduna, Nigeria. In the summer of 2008 he changed his surname of Ugochuwu to the current one, which is his father’s surname.
At first, Kingsley Onuegbu trained at the academy of Idar-Oberstein SC from 2005 till 2007, and then he joined the senior squad of the side. In the season of 2007/2008 the footballer took part in 26 matches and netted 12 goals, which could not remain unnoticed by some bigger clubs.
From 2008 till 2010 Kingsley Onuegbu performed for Eintracht Braunschweig. He made his debut on August 23, 2008 in a match against the second team of Bayern München FC, when he substituted Benjamin Fuchs at the 70th minute. Soon the footballer let himself say a few uncomplimentary words about the bosses of the club and was charged by the football federation. Moreover, he had some serious disagreements with his coach and was forced to leave the club for Greuther Fürth SpVgg.
In 2012 the footballer was loaned to Sandhausen SV and in 2013 signed a permanent deal with Duisburg.
