Kirk Broadfoot is a defender, born on 8 August 1984 in Irvine, Scotland.
Kirk spent his youth career in the Coyle Thistle, Ayr Valspar, Auchinleck Talbot and Queen of the South. In 2000, the footballer was admitted to the academy of Hibernian, where he stayed during two years. On 1 July 2002, Broadfoot penned a professional contract with St. Mirren and managed to help his new club to lift the Scottish Challenge Cup and get the promotion to the Scottish Premier League. In 2006, the defender became a captain of the squad.
In the spring 2007, Kirk put pen to paper of a pre-contract agreement with Rangers and officially became a part of the team on 1 July the same year. The footballer took part in 80 fixtures and netted one goal for Rangers till the summer 2012, when he completed a move to English side Blackpool. Broadfoot featured in 68 games for ‘The Tangerines’ before moving to Rotherham United in the summer 2014.
The defender has a clutch of honours, including the Scottish Challenge Cup (2005), the Scottish League Cup (2008), one Scottish First Division Champion title (2006) and three Scottish Premier League Champion titles (2009, 2010 and 2011).
In 2006, Kirk made five appearances for the Scotland national U-21 squad. From 2008 to 2010, he was capped four times and contributed one goal for the full national team.
