Kris Boyd is a Scottish forward born on 18 August 1983 in Irvine.
Kris was groomed at Kilmarnock FC youth system, before joining the first team of the club in 2000. He shortly brought out his full potential and cemented his place in the starting eleven. At the very beginning of the 2002/03 season, Boyd impressed so much that was awarded the SPL Young Player of the Month title in August. Overall, he scored 63 goals in 153 matches during his six-year stint at the club.
Boyd enjoyed even better fortune signing for Rangers in January 2006. He got off to a flying start at the club scoring a hat-trick in his debut game against Peterhead. The skillful striker can boast of two Scottish Premier League wins, two Scottish Cup and two League Cup trophies for a four-year spell at the club. He made an impressive total of 128 goals in 192 appearances in all competitions for Rangers.
Boyd joined Middlesbrough for the 2010/11 season. In 2011, he had short spells at Nottingham Forest and a Turkish side Eskişehirspor. In January 2012, the Scottish striker signed for MLS side Portland Timbers. He marked his league debut with the second goal in a 3-1 victory over Philadelphia Union.
In 2013 he moved back to Scotland joining his former club Kilmarnock. HAving scored 25 goals in 46 matches during one season, Boyd moved to Rangers for the second time in his career.
In between 2002 and 2005, Kris Boyd represented the Scotland U21 team. Since 2006 to 2010 he was capped to senior Scotland side amassing 7 goals and 18 international games for the period.
