Kwame Quansah is a midfielder of Heracles Almelo. He was born on 24 November 1982 in Tema, Ghana.
Kwame’s career took off in local Young Kotoko, where the footballer performed from 1997 till 1999.
In 2000, Quansah penned his first professional contract with local Asante Kotoko and netted two goals in 15 fixtures for the club till he was noticed by Ajax scouts. The same year, the midfielder transferred to the Amsterdam side team, but managed to make only one appearance for ‘de Godenzonen’ during two years.
Kwame wanted to gain playing practice and went on loan to Germinal Beerschot in the summer 2002. The footballer became a regular of the temporary club and amassed 11 goals in 30 matches during his spell.
Despite Quansah’s impressive performance, his parent club decided to send him on loan once again, this time to AIK, where the midfielder took part in 18 fixtures and found the net two times in the 2003/2004 season.
In 2004, Heracles Almelo secured Kwame’s services on permanent basis after lodging a tempting bid for the footballer. From the first half of the 2004/2005 season, Quansah became the pivot of the new team and showed spectacular stamina and skills, which helped him to score 23 goals in 239 games for Heracles as of November 2012.
