Lacina Traoré is a striker for Monaco and the national team of Côte d'Ivoire. He is also a citizen of Burkina Faso.
In 2007 he graduated from Ivorian ASEC Mimosas football academy. Lacina Traoré began his professional career in 2007 at Stade d’Abidjan, where during his debut season he started 17 matches and scored two goals. In the following season Lacina made 10 appearances and netted 4 goals.
Although Lacina Traoré didn’t achieve success at home, he was scouted by many European clubs.
In 2008 Lacina Traoré supplemented the first team of Romanian CFR Cluj from the city of Cluj-Napoca. In the debut season at the new team Lacina Traoré made 6 appearances and scored one goal, but at the same time became Romanian Cup 2009 Champion, even though he spent the final match sitting on the bench.
In February 2011 Lacina joined Kuban Krasnodar. The transfer fee amounted to €6 million. At Kuban Lacina Traoré’s salary was €500,000 per year. In 2012 the forward joined another Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala, where made 46 appearances and netted 19 goals.
In January 2014 Lacina completed a move to big-spending French side Monaco but was immediately loaned out to Everton for the rest of the season.
Lacina Traoré is an active player of Côte d'Ivoire national team since 2012. Lacina also featured for Côte d'Ivoire Olympic.
Traoré is 2 meter tall and is one of the tallest professional players in the world.
