A Senegalese footballer Ladji Keita was born on 29 April 1983 in Dakar.
His professional career started in 2002, when Ladji signed a year contract with a hometown club Jeanne d’Arc. His debut season was lined with only few appearances for the first team. In the summer 2003, Keita moved to Valence. He made only 9 appearances during the 2003/2004 season there.
In January 2005, a new contract was penned with a Portuguese side Alverca, where he spent the rest of the 2005/2006 season scoring 7 goals in 13 matches before he was scouted by Rio Ave. Ladji succeeded in becoming the team’s pivot at Rio Ave. He was a starter in almost all the club’s fixtures for a three-year stint at the club. In total, the striker made 77 appearances and scored 14 goals.
In the summer 2008, Keita signed for the Cypriot side Atromitos. He was lucky to find the net only once in 17 appearances for the club. The second half of the 2008/2009 season was spent at another Cypriot team AEP, making 11 appearances and scoring 2 goals. In the summer 2009, the footballer became the member of Vitória Setúbal and made a total of 25 appearances and 9 goals for the club in the 2009/2010 season.
In the summer 2010, the striker joined the Portuguese side Braga. But he didn’t get enough playing time, making only 4 appearances during the first season. That’s why he was sent on loan to Beijing Guoan in China where he played 10 games and scored one goal for the temporary team. In January 2012, the footballer came back to Portugal, where he performed for another temporary club Nacional. In the summer 2012, the club’s management offered the striker a permanent contract. Keita took the proposal and played for the club during one year. After that he joined an Angolan side Petroleos Luanda.
