Landon Donovan is an American footballer who currently plays as a forward for Los Angeles Galaxy in MLS.
He embarked on his professional career at Bayer 04 Leverkusen in 1999 where he initially played for the reserve squad. Due to high competition at the club, Landon was mostly kept off the first team and in 2001 he was sent on loan to San Jose Earthquakes. For a three-year stint at the temporary club, Donovan developed his game impressively amassing 32 goals in 87 matches. He even led the club to MLS Cup wins in 2001 and 2003.
In 2005, Donovan got a toehold at Los Angeles Galaxy where he plays till the date. Together with the club he pulled off as the MLS Cup winner in 2005 and 2011.For seven years, excluding short loan spells at the German giants Bayern Munich and the English top-flight club Everton, Landon appeared in more than 180 matches with the Galaxy scoring more than 90 goals.
Landon Donovan is capped to the United States national team since 2000. As of August 2012, he featured in more than 140 international matches scoring more than 45 goals.
