A French footballer Laurent Bonnart is a defender at Ajaccio.
His professional football career started in Tours FC but in 1998 he became part of Le Mans UC72. Soon the player was in the major squad and not long after he was named captain. He filled the position from 2004 till 2007. The defender spent 9 seasons at Le Mans and after that Laurent was acquired by Marseilles for €1.5 million.
In 2007 Bonnart moved to the new club and immediately became the discovery of the 2007/08 season. His transfer to the club was connected with the fact that Taye Taiwo needed a new substitute. The player’s wide experience helped him to play well both at defensive and attacking positions.
In 2008 the defender was generally recognized due to his positive performance. He was proclaimed the best full back in the 2007/08 league season.
Late in the 2009/10 season Didier Deschamps appointed Laurent captain of the team for two matches against RC Lens and OGC Nice. However a few weeks later the player rejected to sign the contract extension with the club.
Bonnart was preparing to sign a contract with the new club (Le Mans which he once represented) but in the summer of 2010 he changed his mind and joined AS Monaco FC on a three-year deal.
After Monaco was relegated to Ligue 2 the player faced the threat of wage cut and obviously he was not going to accept such terms. As a result the contract was cancelled before the expiry of the term. On 18 July 2011 Laurent Bonnart agreed to a 4-year contract with Lille.
In July 2013 he switched for Ajaccio.
