A French football player Laurent Pionnier is a goalkeeper of the French club Montpellier HSC.
Pionnier’s football career began in Olympique Alès. He became a member of Montpellier youth team squad in 1997. He made his debut as a member of the first team in the 2002/03 season. During that season the footballer appeared in nine matches.
Over a period of three years Laurent played as a goalkeeper for Montpellier reserve team. He was promoted to the major squad only in the 2005/06 season.
During the 2007/08 season Pionnier played for Libourne-Saint-Seurin which took him on loan. For that club the goalkeeper played 17 matches. He returned to Montpellier in the position of a reserve player featuring quite rarely during the league matches. Pionnier was given more playing time in the French Cup competition. Due to that Pionnier participated in the 2010/11 French League Cup Final. In the final Montpellier was defeated by Olympique de Marseille.
