A Spanish footballer Leandro Montagud Balaguer performs for Elche as a goalkeeper. Leandro was born on 28 February 1989 in Alzira, Valencia.
Balaguer came from the youth ranks of Elche. The footballer spent two years at the club’s youth department. During that period he got his first playing experience and finished his formation.
In 2006, Leandro’s career started a new stage. The keeper was promoted to the senior side of Elche. He was the first player of the reserve squad, where he stayed until 2010. Whilst playing for the B team, Balaguer managed to display an impressive performance. He made 91 appearances for the squad.
In 2010, Leandro joined the club’s main team. He appeared seven times as a member of the starting eleven. In the summer 2010, the goalkeeper was loaned out by Torrellano Illice. Altogether, he made 22 appearances for the temporary side. After the spell had come to an end, the footballer returned to Elche, where he performed as a substitute player mainly. He didn’t get enough time to keep in good shape, that’s why the club’s management opted to send him on another loan to Ponferradina. Montagud agreed on a year-long deal with the temporary side and joined the squad. In total, the goalkeeper made single appearance for the Ponferrada-based club.
