Leandro Fernández is an Argentine centre back. He was born on January 30, 1983 in Rosario. Aged five, Leandro fell in love with sports. Argentine footballer showed his promise at regional level in the children's football team May 1 and Saradea. At 15 Fernández started playing for the club Newell's Old Boys. In 2000 he penned his first professional contract.
In 2005, Leandro started to defend the colors of football club River Plate. Argentine footballer played for the Olympic team, and the Argentina national team. As a member of the Olympic team he managed to become the champion of the 2004 Olympic Games. In the 2001 U-21 World Cup Leandro won the fourth place. During the fight for the America's Cup in 2004 Fernandez got silver medals.
In 2006, footballer signed a contract with Dynamo Moscow. During this year he justified his fans faith and became the best club’s player of the year. In 2008 and 2010, Leandro was named one of the best Russian Football Championship players.
