Leandro Damián Marcelo Grimi was born in 1985 in San Lorenzo, Argentina. He is a left defender from Sporting Clube de Portugal and currently he plays for Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba.
He began his senior playing career at Argentinean Club Atlético Huracán and Racing Club de Avellaneda. In 2007, Grimi moved to Italy and joined A.C. Milan for a fee of €2 million. He made his first appearance in a 2-0 victory over A.C. Arezzo, that was the Italian Cup match, and in April 2007 he featured as a substitute in a 5-2 win over Ascoli Calcio 1898 that was the Serie A game.
In 2007, Grimi had a short spell at A.C. Siena and in 2008 he was sent to Portugal, where he played on loan at Sporting Clube de Portugal before he completed a permanent move in 2008. He helped the team to finish the 2007/08 Primera Liga runner up and win the Taça de Portugal. In 2010, Grimi fell out of favor and featured only in 4 matches in the 2010/11 season. For the 2011/12 season he was sent on loan to the Belgium side K.R.C. Genk and after that he signed a season-long loan with Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba.
