Lee Cattermole is a midfielder of Sunderland. He was born on 21 March 1988 in Stockton-on-Tees, England.
In 1998 Lee joined the academy of Middlesbrough, where he spent his entire youth career. During seven years, Cattermole managed to develop into a skilled and solid defensive midfielder. That was the position he was trained for during his spell at the youth system, because Lee fitted it perfectly.
In 2005 the footballer accepted the offer of the club and penned a senior contract. After becoming a professional player, Cattermole got an opportunity to raise his level of performance.
