Lee Collins is a defender of Northampton Town. He was born on 28 September 1988 in Telford, England.
Lee spent last three years of his youth career in the academy of Wolverhampton, where he proved to be a capable defender and got a lot of positive reviews from the coaching staff and pundits. In 2007, the footballer penned his first professional contract with ‘The Wolves’, but went on loan to Hereford United at once, where he made 16 appearances during six months. In 2008, Collins sealed a temporary deal with Port Vale and showed impressive performance in 22 fixtures for the team during his spell, which helped him to get a permanent long-term contract with ‘The Valiants’.
In the summer 2009, the defender put pen to paper and became the pivot of the new club. Lee fired four goals in 120 games for Port Vale during three years and completed a loan move to Barnsley, where he featured in seven games and impressed the manager. After the end of the footballer’s spell, ‘The Tykes’ secured his services on permanent basis, but decided to send him on loan to Shrewsbury Town, where Collins took part in eight matches.
Since 2013 Collins has featured for Northampton Town.
