Leigh David Bromby is an English defender. He was born on 2 June 1980 in Dewsbury, England.
Leigh’s career took off in the academy of Sheffield Wednesday, from where the footballer graduated to the main squad in 1998. He penned a senior contract with the club, but went on loan to Mansfield Town and netted one goal in ten fixtures.
After the end of his spell, Bromby returned to his parent Sheffield and made his début for the team in December 2000. The defender made 100 appearances and fired two goals for ‘The Owls’ during five years.
In 2004, Leigh transferred to Sheffield United and showed impressing performance, which helped him to extend his contract till August 2006. The 2007/2008 season was not very fruitful for the footballer, because he took part only in 15 matches. Bromby featured in 109 games and found the net six times for the team during four years.
In January 2008, the defender sealed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Watford and scored one goal in 40 fixtures for ‘The Hornets’ during his spell. In 2009, Leigh returned to Sheffield United and went on to net one time in 13 games for the club.
In August 2009, the footballer’s services were secured by Leeds United on a four-year deal. In April 2012, he got a serious knee injury and was ruled out for a long time. Bromby made 55 appearances and contributed one goal for ‘The Peacocks’ and retired in 2013.
