Levan Kobiashvili is a footballer from Georgia, born in 1977. He began his youth career at Awasa Tbilisi and then joined Olimpi Rustavi. He went on his senior career in the latter one and in 1995 switched to Dinamo Tbilisi. In 1997 he had a loan spell at Alania Vladikavkaz. In 1998 he joined SC Freiburg, whom he helped to advance to the Bundesliga.
Kobiashvili played for SC Freiburg till 2003 and then moved to Schalke 04. During his stay there Schalke was Fußball-Bundesliga runners-up twice in 2004/05 and 2006/07. In 2004/05 the team was second at the DFB-Pokal, in 2005/06 they were the winners of Ligapokal. In the 2005/06 UEFA Cup Schalke reached the semifinal being eliminated by FC Sevilla and in 2007/08 they reached the quarterfinal of the UEFA Champions league, where they lost to FC Barcelona. In 2010 the defender left for Hertha BSC.
Levan Kobiashvili earned a hundred caps for the Geaorgia national team. He was called up to play for youth teams and between 1996 and 2011 he featured for the senior team.
