Li Jianhua was born on 12 February 1982 in Meixian, China.
Li’s professional career started in Shenzhen Shangqingyin which is now known as Shenzhen Ruby. Soon the footballer secured a place in the first team. In the debut season Li took part in 21 matches and netted 1 goal. The biggest success came to the footballer in 2004, when his team won the Chinese Super League title. Jianhua remained with his team for several more seasons. All in all, he featured in 152 games for Shenzhen Shangqingyin and netted 6 goals.
In 2009 Li Jianhua moved to Guangzhou Evergrande. In 2013 the experienced player joined Guangzhou R&F. Jianhua won the 2010 China League One title, the 2011 Chinese Super League title and the Chinese FA Super Cup together with his club.
Since 2008 Li Jianhua has been playing for the China national football team. The footballer made his international debut against Mexico on 16 April 2008. He made another appearance against El Salvador.
